New Laundry Recipe!

For the past several weeks I’ve been trying a new laundry detergent that I adapted from onegoodthingbyjillee and I love it so I thought I would share it. In the past I have made liquid detergent but I just wasn’t satisfied with the way my clothes came out smelling. Plus- I had to make fabric softener separately. This new recipe is powder detergent that smells good and has softener in it! It also can last you up to a year, depending on how much laundry you do.

I found her recipe and adjusted it just a little for my preference:

 1 box of borax- $4

2 bars of zote soap- $2 (you can also use 3 bars of fels naptha if you prefer its scent)

1 box arm & hammer washing soda- $3

2 tubs oxyclean (I used Sun brand from the DG)- $8

1 big bottle purex crystals- $7
Grate the soap and throw everything in a very large covered container and mix it together. I use a barrel that flour was kept in.
Use about 2 tbsp. per load.

We have had great success with it! Try it out and let me know how you like it!

Loot from Faith Consignment

My very awesome MIL got me a gift certificate to Faith Consignment in Alabaster for Christmas. That store is very dangerous! It’s worse than the dollar tree. You go in for a tshirt and come out with a car full! I got to use my gift card yesterday to get some great deals!

huge picture frame: $20
awesome picnic basket: $15
nice wicker laundry basket: $10
japanese table setting for 6: $3.50
I left very excited!

On a related note, I also got seasons 1 & 2 of Jon Kate Plus 8 for free. They were literally giving it away. I don’t watch it, but who can resist free? It’s in great condition so the first person to comment that they want it gets it.
